I will try not to bore you here… Well, not too much

I was born in Chicago, Illinois and my first few years of life I lived in Cicero, Illinois (ooo the mobster town!  LOL…the good old days!)  Then moved out and was raised in the western suburbs in my kindergarten years. I enjoy the changing seasons very much and I particularly like autumn.

I graduated high school and went to work in corporate America as an executive secretary (hmm, do they even use the word secretary anymore?) Back then most of us girls didn’t even think of college…  just got a job, found a husband and had babies.  Crazy, huh?

My “corporate” existence only lasted a couple of years as I married and had four beautiful children and now my role was homemaker or, to coin Roseanne Barr, a “Domestic Goddess.”

During that time, I was many things and “wore many hats” as you can imagine , plus I helped my husband build a side business of a hobby store that sold diecast cars, trucks and trains.  Although working at a major corporation, money was still tight having four children…so we turned his hobby into a thriving business.

Once the kids were grown and in high school, I chose to go back to school to learn skin care.  After all, I wanted to learn how to fight the “hands of time,” which then led me to having my own salon/spa.

Long story short…after over 10 years in the beauty industry and having the typical brick and mortar businesses (4 salons/spas!) on top of the 15 previous years of the hobby story and all of the situations and circumstances that come with long hours, overhead, inventory and employees, I just felt it was time to move on and get out the rat race that all entailed.

Since learning to market the businesses online and offline, I grew to know and got more and more involved with what the internet had to offer…with NO overhead, NO inventory, NO employees and NO long hours, unless I wanted to!

So for the past 3 years I have been working from home and have spent countless hours and thousands of dollars weeding through the rubbish reviewing Network Marketing, MLM and online money making concepts (particularly Affiliate Marketing) and opportunities, in order to find a few that I could build a business around.  Marketing is marketing whether you learn to build a brick and mortar business or an internet business.

Unfortunately, what I found the most were just offers that had no substance and most would call “make money from home” scams.  Plus had to buy endless products, go to endless meetings and attend countless webinars!  Now I am sure there are plenty of scams out there, but I also know that there are plenty of people that do not put an effort into something this is truly genuine and then they just “poo-poo” and bad mouth the opportunity.  When in fact, it would have been the perfect opportunity for them had they just been diligent and kept on plugging along.

However, what I did find way to often  was that most of the people that were offering these opportunities just hid behind their computer and gave no support to those that were “buying into” their programs and then the people that bought in just get frustrated and say that it all just doesn’t work.  That is just not cool!

As I plugged along, remained focused and believed that I will find exactly what I was looking for…I did!

After all, I knew the brick and mortar business and all that entailed with marketing and advertising and selling yourself and the products and the services, so I KNEW there was a HUGE MARKET on the internet where I could build a “passive income.”  Heck, who wouldn’t like to get paid even when they are sleeping…or in my case sleeping at at the beach! ahhhhhhhhh my dream, to live at the beach.

Listen, what I am most grateful for in regards to my business is that because I did do the time and spent the money on all of those programs and information, not to mention books, CDs and DVDs…I am now armed and ready to help those that join me.

I am still quite active in the beauty industry consulting and training salon and spa owners how to build their business and I just can’t seem to turn my back on the body wrap industry.  Being a Body Wrap Expert and Educator is still a big part of my life, but I can now travel all over the country and internationally while building my home based business!  Ahhhhhhhh, creating I want to live, enjoy and share with others.

This website/blog is dedicated to sharing with you my home business and the tools that I use to build it.  And, of course, tidbits of information that I think you will find useful in whatever business you are building.

Since writing this many things have changed, but many have also stayed the same.  But truly if we aren’t changing then we aren’t really living, are we?

Whatever your desire and wherever your life may lead you or direction you may follow, may you go with an open heart, and open mind and with gusto!  Never let a day go by not telling you those you love that you love them and please always try to leave where you have been a little better than when you had found it.
