Family Ties 12/07/2009
Hi Everyone, as you many of you know I am one of those people who always sees the glass half full and try to find the positive in every situation. In these difficult times for so many people, I know how hard that can be. I met these wonderful people because the were neighbors of mine...unfortunately for way too short of time. But I can tell you that each and every time I spoke to them and watched them with their children, I wished I could go back to when mine were younger. Time goes by much too quickly and with my youngest going to be 24 next month and my oldest at 28 (I have 4...and twins at 26) I can tell you it goes by waaaaaaaaaaaay too fast. So take a moment, and enjoy a little clip from some wonderful friends of mine that exude "family" through and through. (Sorry some of it may not fit on the screen...enjoy!) I BEG TO DIFFER! 09/16/2009
What have people said about you? On the many roads I have traveled, under the many hats I have worn, with the scores of people that have graciously (ok, some NOT so graciously) passed through my life I have been known to some as the effervescent social butterfly, the quirky mom who would do anything for her kids (four of them) just to see them smile, the loving wife and at times not so loving, soccer coach, T-ball coach, Girl Scout Leader, Earth Ranger (REDUCE, REUSE and RECYCLE), the craft teacher, the listener, the nurse, the neighborhood taxi mom…..and the list goes on. I like to read, crochet, paint, cook, help with whatever and whomever needs it, listen to music and SING ever so loudly and badly (you would agree if you hear me attempt anything by Mellisa Etheridge! OH alright, any song by anybody!), dance around the kitchen or wherever and whenever the spirit moves me, I love the coolness of a morning sunrise and the warmth of it setting on my face, I love the smell of an autumn day, hardware stores and a local hometown tavern. I can change a tire, set a spark plug and jump start a battery on a cold blistery day. I am not a gourmet cook or chef, but can cook and bake with people wanting more. I like things neat, but don’t mind the dust bunnies because life is more precious when not worrying so much about when someone comes to visit if they are coming to see me or how clean my house is. I suppose there isn’t anything I wouldn’t try (as long as it is legal) although I have chosen to take the safer road ever since I had my children. I have a husband that I am sure (without a doubt!) that every woman dreams of who finds me a bit off center and a touch quirky, but loves me just the same. I even have him dancing with me when that spirit takes hold. How fun is that? When I am in the dentist’s chair and the drill you hear, I hum quite loudly…the tune in my head, “Turn the Page” by Bob Seger, ("out there in the spotlight you are a million miles away, with every ounce of energy you try to give away, as the sweat pours out your body like the music that you play....") which takes me to my “happy place.” But then again I have lots of those. The holidays with my family, spending time with my children (anything with my children!), the white sand between my toes as I am running toward the water…LOL, ok walking along the shore! The way the water carries my body as I float looking up to the heavens. I am born in the sign of water and truly it IS there that I feel my best and, of course quite lighter and thinner…every woman’s dream! YES, just like you, I know a lot, have seen a lot and have done a lot. I have been called, “the Jack of all trades, but Master of none.” I BEG TO DIFFER. I have been told that I don’t stay with things long enough, and that I am fickle. I BEG TO DIFFER. I have been told that my attention span is that of a two year old…only long enough to be there to cause a bit of a raucous, and then just move along to my next experience. I BEG TO DIFFER. I have brought up a family and did the best job I knew how…my kids did NOT pop out with instructions attached to their bottoms, ya know! I was a "stay at home home" for 25 years. I went back to school to become an Esthetician and a Nail Technician…all in an effort to finally feel like I could become something and, of course, to fight Mother Nature and the inevitable signs of aging. I opened a Spa/Salon, then two, then three. I trained others around the country in various techniques in order for them to build their business. I was told that I moved around so much because of that “boredom factor” I have deep inside of me…I BEG TO DIFFER. I moved on because what I trained and after I did, I left those knowing all I knew in order to help them to move toward their success. Knowing when to move on does not scream of boredom, but rather the smarts to move forward and put my attention and talents elsewhere and for goodness sakes, to learn more so that I can pass that on as well. Crazy, you say…maybe, but I BEG TO DIFFER. I have gotten involved with my mom, just so I can spend time with her, with Network Marketing such as Jafra, Shaklee, Pampered Chef, and Home Interiors and learned many years ago that Network Marketing is the way to build a business. Unfortunately, our lives got busier, my four children came quickly and those things because more important. A mistake you say...maybe, because we could be making tons of money from building our team by now and enjoying that residual income. I BEG TO DIFFER. My attention span is all that it needs to be. I am a quick learner and then I move on. Not necessarily because I get tired or bored, but because there is so much for me to learn and to share. What do people say about you? I prefer, “the Jack of all trades, the Master of the ones that thrill me!” AND BOY have learned along the way and can now apply those things that thrilled me and create a life that I can Master. Because don't we all just want to be the Master's of our lives; to do the things we want to do, when we want to do them, with whom we want to do them and have the time and money to do them. Now you can. Don't think you can do it? I BEG TO DIFFER! Let me teach you how. Dedicated to your success, Andrea |
